| 48 and 56 Frame refer to the actual size of the spa pump motor. Generally, 48 Frame Spa Pump Motors are 5.5" Diameter and 56 Frame Spa Pump Motors are 6.5" Diameter. 56 Frame motors run a little cooler and can be more powerful depending on the application. Often times spa manufacturers do not leave much room in the spa cabinet for you to replace a 48 Frame spa pump motor with a 56 Frame spa pump motor. If in doubt as to what kind of motor you have, check the motor tag for information. It will most certainly denote the motor's voltage, frame size, hertz, RPM speed (one RPM rating for single speed, two RPM ratings for two speed ex. 3450/1725), and amp rating. |
